CrossING: Green career - sustainability for engineers

With CrossING, we offer an annual platform to support students of engineering degree programmes on their way into the professional world and to connect them with potential employers. In particular, there is a growing demand for engineers in "green" jobs who want to help shape the necessary transformation of society as a whole. But where and how can you find these jobs? CrossING offers answers.

Other topics that participants can deal with at CrossING are Balancing family and career, meaningful jobs and life planning, PhD and/or career entry in industry, energy transition and emission-free future as well as environmental, safety and energy technology.

The WORLDFACTORY Transfer and Start-up Centre will also introduce young founders and offer those interested in self-employment a suitable point of contact during the event. The organisation team also has a "surprise egg" up its sleeve.

Once again this year, participants will have the opportunity to collect personal etiquette tips, have their application photo taken professionally and have their application documents checked.

We are delighted to welcome exciting companies and RUB institutions, such as Air Liquide, Amprion, Bosch, Deutsche Bahn, Evonik, the Fraunhofer Institute, Forschungszentrum Jülich, Kostal, Redpath Deilmann, Schneider Electric, the RUB Sustainability Office, Sennheiser, Stadtwerke Bochum, Thyssenkrupp, TÜV Nord, the WORLDFACTORY Transfer and Start-up Center, Würth Elektronik and CERN (European Organisation for Nuclear Research) from Switzerland.

The next event will take place on 25/26 September 2024. Participation is free of charge.

Lore Agnes Prize

In 2015, CrossING was awarded the Lore Agnes Prize, in the context of which the RUB aims to make successful gender equality strategies more visible and recognises them with a prize every two years. As part of CrossING, former fellow students report on their entry into the professional world and how they personally combined family and job.
